Reflections on Progress: Looking ahead to 2012
The year 2012 will mark a historical milestone for the DC Chapter CPCU Society. Why? Not only will the political airwaves will be jammed with political news as American head to the polls to vote for the next President of the United States, but on September 8th, the National CPCU Society Annual Meeting and Seminars will be coming to our chapter’s front door at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel—in Washington, D.C.
We expect thousands of CPCUs, new designees, insurance industry professionals, carrier representatives, brokers, agents, lobbyists, industry representatives, and their families and friends to attend the 2012 convention. The DC Chapter CPCU Society, as host chapter, is poised to warmly welcome, greet, and guide attendees to make this convention a smashing success.
The convention’s theme in 2012 will be “Reflections on Progress” and highlight the international side of the insurance industry in conjunction with the international flavor of the nation’s capital. However, as many visitors and local residents know, there is an abundance of national monuments, museums, and places of interest in Washington D.C. to keep any visitor fascinated for days, if not weeks. Note: D.C.’s newest memorial: The new Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial, is being dedicated next month.

It is with great pleasure for me to announce the DC Chapter CPCU has once again, attained GOLD status in the CPCU Society’s Circle of Excellence Recognition Program.
The DC chapter has sustained an impressive streak of achievement in the COE program, and I would like to personally thank everyone who made this possible—namely--all of you.
Special thanks go to Susan Scott, our president-elect, for organizing and submitting this year’s COE entry. I have no doubt our current vice-president, Diana Franklin, will continue this tradition of excellence when she submits our entry in 2012. Please continue to submit your activity updates to Diana throughout the year.
The DC Chapter will be recognized at a luncheon along with other GOLD chapters at this year’s annual meeting in Las Vegas.
