With many fitness centers and gyms still shuttered during the current pandemic, personal fitness has become a forefront issue.  We are all aware sitting and staring at smartphones and video monitors for hours is not conducive to a healthy lifestyle.  Many of us continue to work remotely.  Vacations and personal travel have been curtailed. However, we can still go outdoors for fresh air, and exercise.  “What exercise?” you ask.

During these trying times when most of us are working remotely and barely leaving our homes, we need to remember to take care of ourselves, physically and mentally.  One of the best ways to take care of our mental selves is to check out – for an hour, a day, a week or longer.  

In one hour you can walk around your neighborhood.  

In one day you can drive to a state or national park and take a hike.

In one week you can drive to a more distant state or national park and hike, fish, camp, explore nature, get fresh air, see beautiful sites and forget about work.
